Jag fann detta i boken "The Pillars of Islam and Iman" sida 122-123 skriven av Muhammad bin Jamil Zeno och utgiven av darussalam.
6. It is permissible for an Imâm, who cannot stand, to pray sitting; the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:
"The Imâm is appointed in order to be followed, so when he says Takbir, say Takbir and do not say Takbir until he does so, and when he goes to Rukû', go to Rukû' and do not go to Rukû' until he does so; and when he says, "Allah hears those who praise Him", say, "Our Lord, and all praise is Your due"; and when he performs Sajdah, perform Sajdah, and do not perform Sajdah until he does so; and if he prays standing, pray standing, and if he prays sitting all of you should pray sitting." * (Bukhâri)
* It is better for the Muqtadi to pray standing when the Imam leads them sitting as approved by the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) in his last illness, when he prayed sitting and people prayed standing. (See Fath Al-Barî, 1/219)
